Pegwell Bay (A Swandale)

NEXT FRIDAY SESSION = 17th August 2018

Pegwell Bay, 6 - 8.30 pm

Sandwich & Pegwell Bay National Nature Reserve is a globally important site for wetland birds.

Spectacular flocks of terns gather in Pegwell Bay at this time of year.  Numbers of Sandwich and common terns may reach four figures and rarer species such as black and roseate tern are also possible.  Migratory wading birds such as greenshank, whimbrel and curlew sandpiper use Pegwell Bay as a stop over.  This session takes place in the evening when the light and viewing conditions are generally at their best.  It is also timed to coincide with the right state of the tide for observing these birds.

Cost £9 / adult and £4.50 / child (under 16)
